Privacy policy

The data we process

• Your account: name of your organization, contact name, email address, phone and city (optional), password stored in irreversible encrypted form.
• Your videos: the videos or links you send, their transcription and the clips produced.
• Billing: plan, payments, credits used.
• Security: sign-in dates, IP address of sign-ins and failed attempts.

Why

• To provide the service: transcribe your videos, choose highlights, edit clips (performance of the contract).
• To manage your subscription and billing (performance of the contract and accounting obligations).
• To protect accounts against fraudulent access (legitimate interest).

We neither sell nor rent your data. Your videos are not used to train artificial intelligence models.

Our processors

• OVH (France): hosting of the website, the application and the videos, and sending of service emails.
• Groq (United States): transcription of the audio track.
• Google, Gemini service (United States): analysis of the transcribed text to choose highlights.
• Stripe (Ireland and United States): card payment, subscriptions and invoices. Card numbers are entered at Stripe and never go through Semence.

Transfers outside the European Union are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long

• Original videos: 48 hours after upload (free plan) or 30 days after you last opened the project (paid plan).
• Clips: 7 days after they are created (free plan) or 90 days (paid plan). You can also delete them at any time, or delete your account.
• Account: until it is deleted, or 3 years after the last sign-in.
• Invoices and payments: 10 years (accounting obligation), anonymized after the account is deleted.
• Security log: 1 year.

Security

Encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords protected with Argon2id, two-factor authentication for administration, strict separation of accounts, daily backups. In the event of a data breach, we notify the French data protection authority (CNIL) within 72 hours and the people concerned when necessary.

Cookies

Semence uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language. They are not used for tracking or advertising and therefore do not require your consent. The marketing website sets no cookies.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or ask for the deletion of your data at any time: from “My account” (“Download my data” and “Request deletion of my account” buttons) or by writing to [email protected]. We answer within one month.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can contact the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.
